Make Hale Pele’s Mai Tai Cocktail

Original: Hale Pele (Portland, OR) via Imbibe Magazine.
- 1 ½ oz. Jamaican rum
- ½ oz. overproof Jamaican rum
- ¾ oz. orgeat
- ¾ oz. fresh lime juice
- ½ oz. dry curacao
- Glass: double rocks
- Garnish: mint sprig
Add all ingredients, plus spent lime shell, and 8 ounces of crushed ice to a shaker tin. Shake until the shaker is frosted, pour into a glass. Top with additional crushed ice to fill the glass. Garnish.
(2 oz rum without the overproof seems to work fine)
